As the first openly gay elected representative from the National Capital Region, Councillor Alex Munter has been a strong and articulate voice for fairness in Ottawa. Munter has won a reputation as a fighter for a fair and inclusive city, and is an advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, along with all citizens and all communities. With the creation of the new "megacity" of Ottawa, Munter's commitment to social justice will be needed more than ever.
